While I am not about to give spammers the links they so want there is no reason to take down most of the spam comments. It is really easy to de-link them with any number of plugins if you use a wordpress blog. (I can’t speak to other platforms but it still isn’t hard without plugins). My reasoning behind letting many of these stand with the links removed is google seems to reward posts with lots of comments. I have some sites which only carry pr 1 or 2 but have a fair number of posts with PR 3, 4, and 5+ they only thing direeffnt about those is the amount of comments.
