So you’re looking for some restaurant marketing tips for the Internet, eh?
Well good, you’ve come to the right place!
The first thing you need to understand about marketing your restaurant (whether online or off) is the power of building your list of customers’ contact info…
So you can continually stay in touch with them and get repeat business from people who’ve already let you know they enjoy your restaurant in one way or another (either by filling out a form in the check-holder, or an opt-in form on your Facebook Fan Page, etc.)
You see, there are 2 main concepts you need to focus on when it comes to Internet Marketing…
- Traffic
- and Conversions

Simply put, you need a system in place to convert your traffic into leads and sales.
One simple off-line way to do this is to create little sheets of paper that you insert in your check-holders that say something like, “Sign up for our VIP Club…to receive special offers, VIP invitations and any other exciting info from us!”
Don’t underestimate the power of doing this! Even if you only get 5% of your diners to sign up, your still getting permission from them to contact them any time you feel like filling up the restaurant with a special offer. But you can actually expect to get a far greater response based on our experience.

My husband and I frequent a few restaurants here in Tucson that are owned by an extremely successful local restaurant owner.
How successful, you ask?
Well, he now owns many more restaurants in several states, including Colorado, Texas, and California. Part of this success undoubtedly can be attributed to the quality of the food and service and the great atmosphere each restaurant has. But if you ask me, he’s been able to open so many restaurants because he’s always able to fill his tables up.
How? Marketing!
He has a “VIP Club” in his check-holders and on his websites… and people sign up for them because he’s always giving great offers. Anytime there’s a special occasion or holiday (or when he simply wants more business) we get an email from him. And you know what? It works! We go to his restaurants more than any others simply because he follows up and stays in the forefront of our minds.
